Framing and roofing, random notes.

At 7:30 Paul went to the house to talk over the punch list with Shawn. He and Troy were already there. Everything was hashed out and all good. The only thing was that we needed the master bath whirlpool in order for it to be framed. That meant today.
Paul went home, got Kathy and we all went to Lowe's to buy the whirlpool Kathy had seen on their website last night. It was $50 off on sale. So Paul picked up the truck from the lot, we bought it and delivered it to the house. It was uncrated and brought in, and within a half hour it was all framed up. Very impressive. It will be plumbed when the plumbers come back to finish all the rough work next week.
The carpenters had been working on the arches in the living room, the problem joist in the half bath, and other miscellaneous things. All is going well and quickly.
Shawn advised that he would be building the stairs next weekend. Cool.

Two roofers arrived on site around nine. After checking everything over they started putting ice and water barrier on. This didn't end up as well as we hoped though. They used up all the shingles on the roof and had to start carrying bags of shingles up the ladder to the roof, which they were very not happy about. At about 80% finished around 3:00 they knocked off for the day. That's not good. Maybe Shawn will let us borrow his panel-lift Cat, which is still on site, to lift the pallet of shingles up to the roof. Also we have only eight cases of siding. We will find out from Bob on Monday if that's adequate.

Paul went in the basement to take better pictures of the drain lines. Then we left them to work and went home.

Followups to yesterday's opens:

Paul called Rich to inform him the half bath was fixed, and to ask about the drain for the window well. Apparently a drain should have been installed to connect to the form-a-drain at the footing, and that was the concrete contractor's job. Will have to call Amy about that.

We'll have to get the fiberglass shower floor and a tub/shower unit for the main bath soon. We'll shop for those this weekend. Obviously the whirlpool is already in place.

Oh, and the surveyor came by and marked our west property line (the boundary with the park.) It's three feet inside the excavation. The diggers took way too much dirt. Yay. We'll have to have them come back and fill it all up so the retaining wall can be built on our property. That'll be a fun conversation to have with them.......

Oh well. That's all for now. Here's pictures.
