The foundation, part 10 - the exciting conclusion!

Wednesday morning. The excavator told me his crew would be out in the afternoon to start. By 4:00 they had backfilled all around the perimeter of the house, and it's finally possible to walk right up to the foundation. Nice.

The next day they came back with stone and filled the garage and stoop, and hauled away the entire front fill pile. All of a sudden this looks more like a place where a house will be.

There is a debate about where our west property line ends. Paul thinks the excavator cut away a little of the city's property and we'll have to fill some back up to install the retaining wall and fence. Maybe it's time to look at landscapers to check out this problem before all the fill gets hauled off. I guess we'll see.

The concrete company's bill arrived with no surprises. Time to go request a draw. That'll be in the morning.
