Shower wall tile setting done

Well, it only took about five years but the wall tile in the shower is finally all set. Paul started at 8:00 and, after a trip to Menards for yet another case of tile, a bucket of thinset and a hole saw, was done by 2:00 or so. Took a lot of time to set all those squirrely little corners, and the curb was done too. Nothing left but to clean and reshape the mortar bed a little with a chisel, and then we'll set the floor too. That should go relatively quickly. On Saturday after the floor tile sets Paul will clean and grout the tiles (also the ones around the whirlpool) and the master bath should be all ready for the plumbers.

Paul spent the rest of the afternoon setting the floor tiles in the foyer. This was easy. Only a few cuts. It took a lot of thinset though so we may or may not need to buy a little more to finish the shower floor.

Tomorrow after setting the shower floor Paul will paint as many chairs as his paint supply will allow, set the cabinets in each of the three bathrooms and then start hanging doors. Friday is a work day, then Saturday will be cleaning, grouting and more door hanging. At some point we'll have to pick up our faucets for the plumber. Three bathroom sink, one shower, one whirlpool, one shower-bath. That should be a few hundred $$$. :(

We are having Elite do our flatwork because their price was reasonable. They'll start after final grading, which we need to find out when that will be.
