Texture, primer and tiling

Hmm. Just noticed we haven't updated in almost a week. Oh well.

Anyway, Jon finished up on Saturday morning spraying texture on the walls. Here it is. Too speckly.

On Tuesday we paid him, and Cliff and Gordie came to spray primer on the walls. Cliff is a family friend and Gordie is a friend of his who lives near our house. They're both retired and the best part is they work real reasonable. :) The primer looks great. The pictures do not, for a number of reasons - there was a little spray on the windows that messed up the light in the rooms, a lot of spray was still hanging in the air, and unbeknownst to us somebody smeared the camera lens.

The primer was drying on Wednesday so we worked on tiling the bathroom some more. Instead of using powdered thinset we bought a gallon tub of Type 1 mastic instead to see how it would work. This was much, much easier to handle. We'll get more and finish up over the weekend.

Painting will resume Thursday. They'll be painting the ceiling and maybe starting the walls. We'll see. They probably won't be done until Monday, taking the weekend off.

In other news the cabinets arrived Wednesday afternoon and we were mighty glad to see them. As soon as the kitchen paint is dry they'll likely go in. We're pretty excited.
