Thursday updates:
Kathy was ill so Paul ended up with an unplanned day at home. Then we were surprised by an early phone call. Integrity Construction called, saying they were starting our gutters today. Surprise!
The drywaller finally started this morning too. He was supposed to start on Tuesday but when we went Tuesday night nothing had been done. Anyway, late morning Paul wandered over to the house to see what was going on. The drywaller had finished the corner bedroom ceiling and was starting in the master bedroom and bath. Just one guy was working with the assistance of a panel lift. We also decided on how the gutter system would work, running a gutter down the side of the garage by the front stoop and adding a downspout in the back corner near the kitchen because no drain was near there, and sending the water all the way across the 70' back of the house was a little too long. So the gutter installers finished up today and will be back Monday to install the last piece of fascia on the garage.
While this was going on a tech from WE Energies arrived to energize the power transformer and get electricity to the house. He then called two more techs in with another truck to get things working at the pedestal, and the three of them got the meter installed and tested, and soon the meter was energized and there was power to the panel. We called the electrician, who told us the GFI was in fact live, so we turned out the breakers and just like that, we had power. :) The drywaller was glad for that as now he didn't have to run the generator anymore. Good deal.
Aaaand..we got a call from Bob; there was a problem with the cabinet order. They hadn't even been started yet. This was bad news; now they are going to be late. The problem was that Mid-Continent Cabinets couldn't get the bathroom cabinet done right. After a few phone calls it was finally decided that they could do it correctly with a taller (34") cabinet instead of the standard 30" and they would do it at no additional charge. All right, that will work.
So that was the day. Tomorrow drywall installation continues.
