It's been a good month. Thirty days ago we had a big concrete basin. Now we have a house.
No construction work since Wednesday, which is kind of a downer. Rich forgot to dispatch plumbers to finish our rough work. :-/ He told us to leave him a voice mail to remind him to send people on Monday. We did, to remind him that they need to make the master bath shower pan, install the main bath tub/shower, and finish the water and waste lines. Also that they'd have to come back to finish the HVAC lines; and that we wanted ductwork for the microwave. Shawn will come back on Monday to install the stairs. President is shipping the HVAC materials, but apparently the mortgage company never got around to wiring money for the last of the materials (even though President asked for it two days ago) so now that'll have to wait until Monday too. Grrrr. We could use that sooner so we can get the electrician to start.
Paul filed paperwork for the second draw. This gets payment for the plumber for work done to date, the roofing (complete), the framing (complete) and the flatwork (complete.) Also to reimburse us for the plumbing and heating materials, the front door, the whirlpool and some incidentals. Paul had gone to the bank to wire money to President for the HVAC materials, so we could get that $4800 back right away. But we couldn't find the receipt for the tub/shower unit so we left that go for now. Debbie thought we could maybe have the money on Tuesday. That's good news for everyone.
We ran the schedule on President Homes' website. It appears if we keep things going here we could be in as soon as mid-August, about six weeks from now. That would be great.
